Day 4 Headed into the windy ICW

The wind had picked up before we left. We took the courtesy car to the mall drive Ace hardware and bought JP weld and led lights. Ben installed the lights over the stove. We cast off about 9:30. This area of the ICW was new to the both of us. (Skidaway Narrows, Hell Gate, Ogeechee River, Ossabaw Sound, Vernon River) There were broad rough rivers, wide inlets with good markers and strong currents.  The wind was howling up to 28 knots from the southwest.  The temperature was 73°. Thank God it wasn't any cooler. The wind was predicted to stay high until midnight. Ben ran both engines until 4:30 when we anchored up behind Saint Catherine's Island in Cow Pen Creek. The inlets were so rough we were happy that the little creek was close to the trees to cut a little wind and not be bouncy at anchor. It was a nice reprieve from earlier that day. I made a big pot of fresh Ratatouille and Ben cooked a pork tenderloin on the stove. There's nothing better than being at anchor on this catamaran. And I must mention there were no bugs thus far.
