 The time spent here on the hook was refreshing. We just enjoyed reading, doing boat projects, swimming off the boat and shopping. The dinghy ride to Snooks was a daily routine so that we could walk for exercise. The results from a desire to dress up for Easter are my aquamarine painted toe nails. Day 17 Under the Boat

 Really beautiful day today the temperature is finally in the 80s. We took off on our usual dinghy ride under the low, low canal bridges and down the canals to the Southport Raw Bar. Florance got her hair done while I took a nice long walk. I went back over the 17th Street bridge again. And we had lunch for the 4th time at the raw bar. After returning to Katmandu, I tested the water temperature and discovered that it was 76 and as it was a beautiful sunny warm day decided it was finally time to get under the boat and clean the bottom. This is something I've been putting off until we got to warmer water. It's amazing how much growth can be on the bottom of a boat. There was about a half an inch of slime and in that slime every imaginable small creature was living and decided to climb all over me as I scrubbed the boat. Days 52, 53, and 54 Sailng

Pennykamp is a Florida State park with lots of amenities: camping, museum, aquarium, beach, boats for snorkel trips, a dive shop and  dive boats. The boat camping is on hold because they are repairing the docks. The mooring balls are available but their erroneous website lists the mooring balls as unavailable until September. I kept calling the dive shop until I got a real person on the line to make an inquiry. Tenacity is the key to succeeding in life! Consequently we were the only boat on a mooring ball in the park.  The dive shop folks set us up with a dive to the 40 ' deep wreck of the Benwood, a WWII ship. It had a collision with another ship. The captain was running with their lights off and in quiet mode because German U-boats were rumored to be in the area. Poor sailors The second dive was Molasses Reef where we swam through coral arches.  We left Pennykamp with fond memories at daybreak so to make 60 NM to Fort Lauderdale before sunset.
